Our director, Andre Maurer, began his career as a first-class machinist in 2011 in Mackay, Queensland. It didn't take long for him to realise that onsite line boring was his true passion. Although he continued machining in the shop, his enthusiasm for onsite machining was undeniable.

 

After completing his trade in 2013, Andre moved interstate to South West Western Australia, where he worked full-time as a machinist, machining a wide range of equipment.

 

His experience spanned from the smallest forestry machinery to the largest rope shovel mining equipment, and everything in between. Before transitioning to a supervisory role, Andre was recognised for his specialist skills in portable milling, large bore and face machining, and various types of laser measuring equipment.

 

After two years of supervising a large team of onsite machinists, Andre decided to focus on his passion for manufacturing onsite equipment. This decision led to the birth of MMT.

 

After returning to Mackay, Queensland, he established MMT in a small workshop and quickly designed and developed some of the most compact and versatile portable machining equipment available today.
